Indian National Congress lost, and the opposition returned to power with a working majority.

The closest race: Kotputli, Rajasthan was decided by a margin of just 321 votes — how far ahead the winner finished, in votes, over whoever came second.

Kushalgarh (St), Rajasthan recorded the highest turnout — the share of registered voters who actually cast a ballot — of any seat, at 88.7%.

Jhotwara, Rajasthan stood out twice over: it had both the largest electorate of any seat, 4,29,027 registered voters, and the most candidates on the ballot, 18.

Statewide, 1.0% of voters chose NOTA — "None of the Above" — a ballot option letting voters formally reject every candidate on offer.

This was a straightforward change of government, with the incoming party clearing a majority on its own.
